Paul and I met in Berlin in 1979 whilst we were flying for Dan Air and we remained good friends ever since. Our careers followed a similar path when we both moved to Leicestershire to fly for Orion Airways as we both felt this move was the quickest path to a Command. This proved to be the case and I can well remember Paul celebrating his promotion and coming to show me the bright green Lotus Elan he had just bought, second hand of course but that didn’t matter he was delighted with it. Apparently it was what he had always promised himself! Paul had a great sense of humour, a very positive approach to life, full of stories about his early years and of course, his flying days. A genuine friend who will be most sadly missed.
